Purpose

This article shows where patient fees are entered into SMART. When periodic billing is run, the patient will be billed for the comprehensive fee entered.

The fees are entered on the patient Profile.

Where is the patient Profile?

The patient profile can be found numerous ways in SMART.

4	Select Bill Cycle Weekly - Patient is billed when users runs the periodic billing Monthly - Patient is billed when the user runs the Periodic billing Daily - Patient is invoiced when the nurse starts the day If the program uses the setting For self-pay daily billing, create AWOL credit for patients that do not dose. Then a credit will be created for any dose that the patient was invoiced for and did not receive. The credit is created when the nurse ends the day. Patient is invoiced the daily fee for each dose the patient is expected to pick up that day. Example: Patient’s daily fee is $10. If a patient is expected to receive one dispensary dose and three take home doses, an invoice for the dispensary dose and each take home dose will be added to the patient’s account. If the patient only received one dispensary dose and one take home dose, the remaining invoices will be credited to the patient’s account.

6	Standard Pay Day - The day the patient is expected to pay for services Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday
7	Pays own treatment when patient does not have insurance coverage.
