SMART supports imaging printing for label printers. SMART has fully tested the Zebra Printer model ZD410.
How do I set up a new label printer?
Install Driver
Power off computer, connect printer to computer and power on. The driver should install automatically. If the driver does not install automatically, it will need to be manually installed. NOTE: Rename Printer to ZebraZD410 using no spaces. Use this name in step 3 below.
Set up the SMART config file (smart2k.cfg) - the SMART configuration file is located on the C:\ drive of the computer.
Set the Printer Offset
LABEL_PRINTER_OFFSET_X=6
LABEL_PRINTER_OFFSET_Y=4
Enter the Label Printer Type
Label size 1.5”x3”: LABEL_PRINTER_TYPE=IMAGE2
Label size 1.5”x2”: LABEL_PRINTER_TYPE=IMAGE1
Enter Printer Name
LABEL_PRINTER_NAME=ZebraZD410
Enter Port Type
LABEL_PRINTER_PORT=USB
Set the Printer Preferences
The printer preferences will be available in two locations. The first will be on the General tab and then the Preferences button at the bottom. The second will be on the Advanced tab and then the Printing Defaults button at the bottom. Please make sure to adjust both!
Go to Printing Preferences for the selected printer
On the Page Setup section
Set appropriate Width and Height based on above Label Printer Type
Set appropriate Rotation
IMPORTANT Notes:
Only one label printer can be set up per user workstation.
