We have added a drop down selection next to the Telephone #1 and Telephone #2 fields on the Patient Information Management. These are labeled as Telephone Number Type and the drop down includes three selections:
Landline
Primary Mobile
Secondary Mobile
This field is optional; users can leave it blank and still successfully save the record. However, it’s recommended that it be completed so that SMART is storing the best information about how to contact the patient when future features allow for patient contact by phone or text. The number that is designated as the PRIMARY MOBILE will be the number we leverage for text notifications.
SECONDARY MOBILE and LANDLINE are intended to capture a phone number that the patient might use for direct contact by clinic staff; but will not be used for text notifications.
