Adding a TeleHealth Service
Click on Gears--Settings--Other Tab--Service Type--Add New
Required for the service to be available on the case history service drop-down and for billing:

ID Code and Description – Please note that you may want to copy the settings for an existing service

Service Category is required for all services: Select applicable Service Category
Fields that are not required for the service to be available:

If the service requires an active treatment plan? If yes, check box

If the service requires and order of the Physician? If yes, check box.

Should the service show on the Direct Service Analysis Report? If yes, check box
-
Should the service show on the Quantitative Service Report? If Yes, check box
-
Signature Requirements: (No signature is required if the check boxes are not selected)

Acceptable session is at least ___ and not more than ____

Overlap check (This Field is not available if the clinic is not using the setting on Controls 1 to Check for overlap.)

Check for overlap of recorded times between this and any other service for the patient or counselor.

Ignore overlap of recorded sessions times.

Add the new service to all applicable Programs
Once the new service is saved in order for the service to be available for all programs and billing staff, the service must be moved from available to selected of the Program Service Type
Billing for Telehealth services is no different from any other billable service:
Gears--Status--Insurance Carrier
On the Modify Fee for Service Details
Find the new service and move from selected to available.
On the Fee for Service Detail Screen enter the following insurance required fields.

Procedure Code

Applicable modifier

Place of Service

Units:

Occurrence – no time requirements for service

Minutes per Unit: Enter units per insurance definition: Number of units will be multiplied by the UCR amount if "Minutes per unit" option is selected.

If 15 minutes per unit/Minimum 1 and Maximum 2 – service will bill if the service is at least 15 minutes long.

UCR and Expected Payment amount need to be entered

Note: For Institutional claims a Rate Code and Revenue Code is required. Contact your insurance for these values.
