Overview
New changes add the correct patient gender information to claim files.
Generating and Printing Claims
A new Claim Value column has been added to the Genders Lookup Table. Values match the codes required for billing.
-
F - Female
-
M - Male
-
U - Undefined (all other gender options)
Users with System Administrator privileges can now edit these values and other information on the table as needed. To access the Genders Lookup Table, open the Admin module (gears icon) and then select Lookup Table Management > Genders.
837-5010-P and 837-5010-I Claim Files
SMART now pulls gender information from the Claim Value column.
Additionally, SMART will no longer generate a claim for a patient who does not have a gender saved. SMART will prompt you save a gender for that patient on the Demographics tab in the Patient Information Management area.
UB04 Claim File
SMART now prints the Claim Value gender on the UB04 claim file. No changes have been made to the CMS - 1500 claim file.
